Bear visits woman’s front door every morning. Then she learns why Emma Ledger lived with her daughter Rose at the edge of a forested neighborhood. She loved living here since these green surroundings usually woke both of them with the sound of birds chirping rather than the sound of heavy traffic. But on this morning, a different strange noise cut through the silence. It was a muffled thump at her front door, oddly heavy, as if someone had dropped a bag of potatoes on the porch. Emma, already up making coffee, paused and looked toward the door. She hesitated momentarily, unsure if she should even check, but curiosity won her over pretty quickly.
